Low Noise Amplifiers
Our SuperLNAs have:.
Be careful. Too much gain will decrease your range! In no case should any signal, on frequency or off frequency, exceed -30 dbm at the input to the receiver. If the receiver has an internal LNA, the highest average signal level applied to the receiver should not exceed -40 dbm. The reason for limiting strong signals, including any adjacent channels, is to prevent INTERMOD (signals mixing with each other and actually modulating each other. This usually occurs in the mixer stage of the receiver).
.LNAs, like shoes, require a careful fitting. Call us and tell us what you have, and we'll give you a choice of LNAs or complete lightning proof LNA System(s) for your site.
We also design systems to your special needs. These include multiple receive antennas throught the same Heliax to reduce costs and tower loading. Transmit capabilities may be added to your ENG receive system to allow additional TSLs.
It is not currently advisable to switch to an LNA system only for the new bandplan, because of the heavy Common Carrier microwave traffic (Cell Site links), in the 2110 to 2130 Mhz area. You can, however, order a Dual Filter SuperFilter/LNA System from us, that will eliminate PCS now, and with the flip of a switch, put you on the new band! The new bandplan will still require heavy PCS Filtering, in addition to MSS Filtering.
Block "C" PCS, 1975 to 1990 Mhz, is now being used. The stations that
bought Brand New ENG Receivers, instead of our SuperFilter/LNA, are now in deep shi trouble!
